Chris got up for breakfast, but I decided to skip it and stay in bed and sleep in. I slept until 10:00 and then wandered down to see where everyone was. I got down to the dining room and the food was still out. There was bacon and there was Maggie the cat sitting on the chair. Maggie is the house cat and she LOVES bacon. Every morning I give her some and as soon as she saw me, she knew good times had arrived. I grabbed a couple pieces and she and I shared them.
Bob, Cal and Mitch were already up in the apt, hard at work preparing our feast. Chris and I decided this would be our shopping day. We needed to buy Tequila, a BIMBO shirt for me, and the tile mosaic that we want to put on the back of the garage in the backyard. We considered going to the beach, and both wanted to, but considering how red we were, decided it would be best to skip it today so that we could spend all of Friday there for our last fling. My stomach was finally feeling normal again, so we showered and headed out.
We went to the Tequila store first, but seeing as how we needed to sample everything, we decided to come back on Fri so as not to start the day off by getting drunk LOL. We headed down the Malecon, found my Bimbo shirt, and headed off towards the tile store. Along the way we ran into Patrick and Casey and they had no plans so we decided to all go and have a light lunch at Picnic. Chris and I had eaten there last year, but they had not. After a quick lunch, we headed to the tile store and purchased a beautiful 36 tile mural of the view basically from the top of our villa. Hand painted. Should be a nice addition to our house back home.
Next stop, the grocery store so Patrick and Casey can get a bottle of wine to have with dinner. We had been told dinner would be served between 4 and 5 and it was 3:15 so we headed back.
Dinner was not quite ready, so we all grabbed cocktails and jumped into the pool for a little relaxing before dinner. Everyone else who was staying at the villa and a few of the owners friends who live nearby showed up and dinner was served. And quite the spread it was. Turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, yummy deviled eggs (thank you Cal :) ) all sorts of breads and desserts. George (the neighbor) made this incredible cranberry and walnut salad and pumpkin bread that was just a little slice of heaven. It definitely was a feast and even though we had only had lunch a few hours before, we all had at least 2 plates of everything.
It was only 6:30 so Chris & I, Patrick & Casey, and Max planted ourselves at the balcony table and started drinking and talking while everyone else went to nap. Well, the conversation was good. So good that at 1:00, after 6 bottles of wine and god only knows how many bottles of Corona, we all decided it was time for bed.
Tomorrow is our last full day and the only things we have planned are the beach and Tequila shopping.
